![]() ![]() In contrast, this one was taken on by Vitamix in partnership with FoodCycler and the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. However, the reviews are extremely mixed with some going as far as to claim it is a scam. There was a similar item that came out a number of years ago, known as the Lomi. It does this by putting the food scraps through a heating, grinding, and drying process turning it into fertilizer in six to eight hours. The FoodCyclerâ„¢ is an electronic device where you put in your compost and reduces food waste weight and volume by up to 90%, creating a sterile, odorless and nutrient-rich soil amendment that can be used as a fertilizer for your plants or garden. Some basics about the unit for those unfamiliar: Reviews are quite positive about the unit (unlike the Pela Lomi which has very mixed reviews) I hadn't seen one of these before, but it's basically a working home food composter and mainly grinds and dries out the scraps for use in the garden/compost. Except they weren't selling the blenders but their FC-50 FoodCycler. Was at Costco in Richmond BC yesterday and they had a Vitamix roadshow on. ![]()
